Nestled on the 34th floor of the stunning Azabudai Hills in Minato City, Hills House Sky Room Café & Bar is a hidden gem that invites visitors to linger and soak in breathtaking views of Tokyo, especially the iconic Tokyo Tower. With a serene atmosphere that harmoniously blends modern elegance with a touch of nature, this café offers a unique retreat from the bustling streets below.

Upon entering, you'll find that your mind is instantly set at ease, surrounded by beautifully designed interiors and expansive windows that frame the remarkable Tokyo skyline. The vibrant energy of the city seems to melt away as you sip a carefully crafted drink, making it the perfect spot for both casual meet-ups and momentous celebrations.

Though the menu is concise, it offers a selection of quality beverages that showcase the café’s commitment to excellence. Indulge in a refreshing iced latte, priced at around ¥850, or perhaps a seasonal drink that captures the flavors of Japan’s beautiful seasons. Note, however, that food options are limited, featuring delightful snacks such as crisps, croissants, and an assortment of dried fruits and nuts, perfect for those looking to enjoy a light bite alongside their beverage.

The highlight, undoubtedly, lies in the café’s exclusivity and location. As noted by patrons in their reviews, the experience is enhanced when you're welcomed by the captivating view of Tokyo Tower, especially as the sun sets and the city lights flicker on. Ashutosh Dash aptly captures it all, stating that if you're after a memorable view, Hills House is definitely worth a visit.

It’s important to plan your visit accordingly, as there’s a nominal admission fee of ¥500 for two people that includes a drink minimum, allowing for unlimited time inside. While some guests mention limited food and drink options, they agree that the enchanting scene that unfolds before you from the café is unmatched. As R Talav shares, where else can you enjoy such an incredible vantage point without heavy costs attached?

In short, Hills House Sky Room Café & Bar stands out as a tranquil escape where customers can rewind and rejuvenate, enjoying Japan’s urban beauty with a delectable drink in hand. Whether you’re a local or a traveler seeking new experiences, make sure to include this spot on your itinerary for an unforgettable adventure in the heart of Tokyo.

Not too many places in the US offer a view like this without paying something. It was relatively cheap. About $4 US and a drink from a coffe bar. (The price for the coffee double the normal street price.) Cool place (especially summer) to take pics and relax in a serene setting on the 34th floor looking towards Tokyo Tower. The tower will light up around sunset. Hotel info or service desk will help direct you to the S2 elevator on 2nd floor to ride to the coffee shop. No tour busses at this residential highrise so you wont see any chaotic crowds like at Tokyo Tower but the train is not a long walk. Elevator or stairs down to the 33rd floor viewing area.

There are very limited options for food and drink. Admission fee for two people is 1000 yen and an espresso is around 800 yen. You can get arguably one of the best views of Tokyo Tower up close so if that’s what you’re after then this place is definitely worth a visit!

Located in Azabudai hills tower, go to the main lift lobby area and go up the escalator, from there you’ll see a signage about having to pay a 500Y cover charge when you’re up there. Take the escalator straight up to level 34, there’s no need to exchange a pass or inform anyone. Once you’re up there, there are staff to ensure you do not bypass without paying. Coffee is 850Y for a standard iced latte, with the 500Y cover charge it became a very expensive coffee. Coffee is decent, nothing fancy but enjoyable. But it’s still nice if you’re looking somewhere quiet and peaceful to stare at the skyline. From the building, you get a very clear shot of Tokyo tower, the closest I’ve seen it from. I didn’t stay long as I wanted to explore other parts of this new area of Tokyo, but I still enjoyed my visit.

I would recommend a visit, as long as you are clear on what to expect you will not be disappointed. Simple summary - 500yen admission fee + a drink and you can stay as long as want. Drinks are pretty good, they have standard teas and coffee + seasonal drinks. The food offer is very limited - crisps, a few croissants options, ice cream and a few options of dry fruits/nuts. 2 floor: 34 - coffee shop / 33 - main view platform You can take a big staircase between the 2 floors or use the elevator. Spacious and calm space. Don’t miss the view from the windows on the 34th floor opposite to the tissues and sugar station. Disable and stroller friendly: elevator availability all the way up and between the 2 floors

It seems as though the free entry to Azabudai Hills Observation deck was only in the first few weeks of opening. It is now ¥500 entry fee and with a 1 drink minimum. This is heavily policed as you are fed straight from the lift into a queue for the cafe. The additional cost would keep the crowds in control and you could get a coffee for around ¥500 or a glass of wine like I did for ¥700 - so its really not that expensive for the experience. Great views of the city with huge high ceiling windows. Need to access it from the basement floor of the office towers. Took a few minutes to work this out. Good alternative to the crowded tourist circus at Tokyo Tower.
